Homework - General
Reading Homework Information:
All children at HGJS are expected to read each day - you must record your reading in your Learning Journal. Every Friday you will be given a piece of reading comprehension homework. This needs to be completed by the following Thursday.

Times Tables Rock Stars
Each week you will be completing regular times tables practice. It is important that you do this little and often. You will be set a certain number of levels to complete each week, which can be found in the maths homework section of your Learning Journal.

Mathletics - The children's Mathletics log in details are stuck into their Learning Journals.
Arithmetic and Bar Model Homework Information:
very Friday your teacher will share with you a problem that can be solved using a bar model, you can find this video on Showbie. You will have a similar question to solve at home using your new bar model skills.
Arithmetic problems will be sent home every Tuesday, complete these problems in your homework book ready for Thursday.

The login is HGJS followed by your surname (without a space). For example - HGJSKhan
All Year 3 homework will now be set on the Showbie app. The children will now be set smaller pieces of homework throughout the week to ensure they are doing a little bit each day.
The children's homework schedule is as follows:
Arithmetic (due Thursday)
Retrieval Questions (due Friday)
Bar Model (due Tuesday)
Reading Fluency (due Tuesday)
TTRS (due Thursday)
Spelling and handwriting homework will be given out on an individual basis.
The children's reading homework will now be set on Showbie. You can download the app to your device via Google Play or the App Store. Alternatively you can visit their website by clicking here.
Log in details for your child will be added to their learning journal along with their homework task. The task can be completed using the website or the app.
Please be aware the children will often need to record their response so a device with a microphone enabled will be necessary.
