Year 3 Welcome

Welcome to Year 3.

Our module in Year 3 is 'Habitats'. The children will be learning about a range of habitats as well as how animals adapt to their environment and how food chains work. They will be responsible for their very own caterpillar, which they will watch grow and turn into a butterfly; these will then be released into our Discovery Garden. The children will be busy putting everything they have learnt throughout the half term into a magazine.

Please remember to bring in your PE kits. Each item should be labelled clearly with your child's name.

Look out for the letter on the website with your class library dates and remember to bring your library card to school.

Homework is available to view on the website each week.

The children are grouped for some maths lessons.
Our groupings will be regularly reviewed and adjusted to make sure we meet the needs of the children.
The groupings will be very different to those your child might have been in during Year 2.  Don't worry about this - we organise our groups differently.
We have 4 main groups, which may split into smaller groups at times.  The 4 groups work in pairs and children are split equally between the pair of groups.
You will be able to find out what we are working on in maths on the Age Related Expectations section of Year 3 and you will receive information on how your child is doing at regular progress meetings.
