The Government is providing primary schools with a set allocation to provide dedicated sports funding.  The funding is being jointly provided by the Department for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport.

The funding is going directly to schools with the remit that it be spent on improving the quality of sport and PE for all children in school.  One of the main aims of the funding is to improve the quality of PE teaching in schools.

Our school received a grant of £10481 in 2014-15,  £10481 in 2015- 16 and £10187 for 2016-17.

In 2016-17, the allocation was used in the following way:

3% of the grant was spent to buy into the Kings Heath School Sports Partnership and the tournaments they offer.

37% of the grant has been spend on providing a sports coaching as part of the children's curriculum entitlement.

38% of the funding was spent on new or updating resources for the curriculum.  This year, we introduced outdoor fitness equipment for the children at breaktimes.

3% of the funding supports ICT software for planning lessons.

4% of the funding will be used to transport children to the wide range of intra school sporting tournaments.

15% will be carried forward into 17-18
